Devilishly good chicken salad sandwich

Wow! That recipe for deviled chicken spread resulted in a fantastic chicken salad sandwich. Usually I find chicken salad OK, but not really worth the effort. All the chopped scallions and the drops of Tabasco (I substituted the Portuguese piri piri sauce) added zing that woke up my mouth without setting it on fire.

The Original New York Times Cookbook has long been a comforting cookbook. My mother cooks from a copy (and I saw a few recipes that she makes as I flipped through the pages yesterday), and she gave me a copy when I got married. I often turn to it when I'm stuck with a basic cooking question... like what temperature should I roast a chicken? How should I cook turnips? I know I can count on it for the basics. But in this journey, I'm finding that this book can also be a source of adventure.
