Meeting goals

OK, I admit that I'm totally behind on my writing goals for the year. But I did enter one of the flash fiction contests at Liberty Hall.

The flash contests work like this: you sign into the trigger and see the writing prompt. Then you have 90 minutes to write and submit a story inspired by the prompt. The contest part is Liberty Hall writers voting for the best "flash" from the entries. Then you're in a group with up to 10 writers and have to critique everyone's story.

I felt a little like when I was doing my first nano... get an idea related to the theme, and just keep writing to see what happens. At first I didn't know how the story would end, but half-way through I knew how the story would end. After a while I realized that I was getting side-tracked and might not get to the end before time ran out. The ending might be a little rushed, but I got there.

I might post more about the story next week... submissions are anonymous, until after the vote (if you choose to reveal).
