Look what's coming!

The only way I'll hang onto 1000 Classic Recipes for Every Cook is if I find several favorite recipes in this book. It's huge and poorly indexed (index of recipe titles only), which makes it really hard to find recipes by ingredient.

For a long time I've thought of dumping this book, but the sheer quantity of recipes kept it on my shelf. However, I realize now that The Original New York Times Cook Book probably has more recipes and is much better organized. The 1000 recipes book is so huge because of all the pictures.

Even so, I'd like to cook ten last recipes as a farewell to this book. Or perhaps I'll discover lots of new favorites and it will earn its space on the shelf. Here are the first five recipes that I'll try:
* Garbanzo bean & tomato soup
* Spanish tortilla
* Stir-fried ginger chicken
* Sage chicken & rice
* Spaghetti bolognese

BTW, the cinnamon raisin bread from More Bread Machine Magic turned out great!
