Reading and playing at writing

According to the Lulu book title scorer, Mysterious Paris has a 41.4% chance of being a bestseller title on the New York Times bestseller list. Of course, it would also help if I'd finish revisions and start sending it out! (Thanks to matociquala for the link.)

At my husband's office Christmas party they had a charity auction. He came home with a new printer for me. :-) It's only inkject, but it's like umpteen times faster than my previous ancient printer! When I bought my previous printer, we measured in how many minutes it took to print a page. This printer supposedly prints 14 pages per minute.

A few days ago I received my ARC (advance reading copy) of webpetals' (Marjorie Liu's) book Shadow Touch. Although billed as a "paranormal romance", the romance part doesn't overwhelm the rest of the story, which seems to be a fight of good vs evil. The characters are a bit reminiscent of the X-Men, which isn't too surprising considering Marjorie Liu also has an X-Men book coming out. So far, I'm enjoying it a lot. The other day I meant to read just a little before going to sleep, but ended up reading for almost 3 hours!
