OneLook Reverse Dictionary

Cross-posted to the nanowrimo community (but with a different example).

This looks like it could be a good tool for writing. ... You give it a list of words, a phrase, or a question, and it gives you back a big list of words. Each of the words is linked to a definition and source of dictionaries used for the reverse look-up.

It tries to find what you are looking for ... some (or many) words will be related to the concept (depending on what you enter), but some are way off track.

I couldn't find some specific words, but found it good for lists. For example, I put in "mysterious Paris". The first 10 results were:
1. jacobin
2. corner
3. croque monsieur
4. symbolist
5. amand bazard
6. croque madame
7. violette szabo
8. secret
9. thinker
10. romance

When writing, especially for nano, I think it might be fun to even get the unexpected words.

Yay for my novel! I already have "croque monsieur", "croque madame", secrets and romance in my novel.
