I have been taking a break from my cookbook journey to clean up my pantry. All those new recipes have lead to a pantry full of ingredients not part of my usual repertoire. Add to that impromptu purchases, and I had a super-full pantry just waiting to be cleared out.
Cooking these days is a bit of a rocky adventure. Dried Chinese mushrooms were great in soup, but not in stir-fry. Finally finished the pancake-waffle mix and one bag of coconut flakes with coconut waffles.
Some of my remaining ingredients include lentils, pineapple, corn meal, and gelatin. I feel like I'm on Chopped with a weird basket of ingredients.
