Could I cook something more orange?

The next dish that I cooked from Apples for Jam was satisfyingly orange.

In case you didn't guess, that's carrot purée. Although a fairly tasty carrot dish, I found it challenging to purée in the blender. I'm not sure if I'll prepare this dish again.

Sometimes I wonder if I should get a food processor or maybe a hand blender. However, I rarely need them, and I already have enough kitchen gadgets.

What's your favorite kitchen gadget?

I'm partial to my waffle iron. Although we eat frozen waffles, fresh are so very different. I love soft fluffy waffles.

gadget? I do not really have one. I am fond of several..crock pot, food processor, bullet blender.

Probably my favourite, am really not happy when cooking with anything else item in my kitchen are my tongs. They flip they stir, they grab, etc. The only kitchen utensil that cannot be replaced by a high-end set of silicone covered tongs (the silicone cover means they can be used as a spatula) is a ladle. I have lots of specialized tools that often do the work *better*, being specialized and all. If you told me I could only save one thing out of my kitchen, it would probably be my Wusthof chef's knife, but that is only because it is a $150 knife, and was a gift, and a really great set of tongs tops out at $30.

But the tongs would be the first thing I would replace.

I've never used silicone covered tongs, and I'm not sure that I've seen them. However, being able to also use them as a spatula sounds pretty nifty.

I love our indoor grill thingy :). You put any meat on it, frozen or not, and grill it--I think it's a George Foreman knockoff, anyway, it makes delicious meats.

That is very orange :)

I have a small one of those that I bought second-hand. It's too small to use all the time, but it is fun sometimes. I'm planning to use it for the grilled scallop salad.
