Another favorite

We have another winner from 1000 Classic Recipes in trout with pineapple. Not too much chopping required, so it was quick to prepare.

Last night I baked the banana poppy seed bread from More Bread Machine Magic. Haven't tasted it yet, but it smells fabulous.

I identified the next three recipes to prepare from the bread machine book:
* Rum raisin almond bread (omg, I'm so looking forward to this!)
* Lemon pepper bread
* Samosas

I love them, but have never tried making them.

I'm dying to get my hands on some of those scallops recipes you've mentioned. I adore scallops.

Keep in mind that 1000 Classic Recipes has pages as large as a coffee table book. But it's 1000 pages... one for each recipe. And a lousy index (alphabetical by recipe title).

It seems best if you want to leaf through picking recipes for the upcoming week, and then doing your shopping based on the menu. I realize that many people plan their cooking and shop accordingly, but this has been a new approach for me. My usual approach is to buy ingredients that I like to cook with, and then to check for recipes with the ingredients on hand.

This book has some great recipes and lovely photos. None of the recipes are overly complex, because there's not much space... although some are time-consuming.

Wow, that is a huge book, and you're quite right, that index would be hard to use.
