Semi-fiction

For this week's meeting of my local writing group, we are supposed to think of a story we have heard about our own lives - but about an event we don't remember, and to use this as the basis for writing a scene.

How timely! My mother was just visiting and (without prompting) told me several stories, including one event when I was three. I've been thinking about the story my mother told, especially this past week since her departure, and thinking about what fictional story I can tell from that un-memory. Thinking about myself when I was three leads me to children's stories. I'm feeling in a little girl mindeset. I wrote (and printed) the first part, which I'll share with the writing group. I outlined the rest of the story, so I don't forget it.

The story has to do with my childhood love of caterpillars.
