Cue theme from Rocky

I just finished entering all the edits from my big pen-and-paper edits of Mysterious Paris! Being so close to the end, I decided to keep going after I completed the daily 10 pages.

The novel is now 43,000 words (somewhat more if I use standard manuscript counting instead of MS Word count). That means I deleted almost 10,000 words more than I added. And to think I believed I was writing lean.

Next up: revisions per the comments from my writing group on the first chapter. Most changes just affect the first chapter, but one carries through. One writer commented that Thierry's "musky" perfume was cliche. I'll now make it "musky tinged with cinammon."

In a couple of days I'll print the whole thing and bring it to a copy shop for cheap binding. In November (and possibly December) I'll pass the entire book through members of my writing group for critique. As I'll be taking a break to work on Starved, I don't have to give everyone their own copy.

Then I'll have a few days for final preparation for nanowrimo and writing Starved. Well, that and revising "I am Brave" to submit to The First Line.
