Revisiting old drafts

I looked over the first chapter of A Science Fiction Fantasy, in preparation for tonight's writers group meeting. I wrote the first draft at the end of 2002 and did revisions in early 2003, and haven't looked at it since.

OK, there's a lot of suck and I have major plans of how to go about revising/finishing. But I was surprised about how much it draws me in. At first I thought it was only Leona and Warren's story, but then even Jainellen's. And the funny part is that even though I remember the overall arc, I don't remember exactly what happens next! So I actually find myself wanting to read the next chapter.

But definitely need to learn more about my characters before I revise. That dialogue is just driving me bonkers!

Sounds clever - I go back and forth about the title though. Sounds too cutesy one moment, then sounds like it would work well in some kind of modern series (i.e. the Ladies' Detective Circle).

It's not necessarily the final title. I originally considered the "working title" as "Science Fiction Fantasy" .... and had no idea what the final title would be. Then recently I thought it could be the title. But that title only fits one of the storylines (there are 2 or 3 major storylines), so I'm still not sure.
